Description

SynergySorb® hydrophobic sorbent products are designed for response to oil spills on water and coastlines. A strong water-repellent response, durable buoyancy and stability of the sorptive properties, even over a long period underwater, are significant advantages for the use of hydrophobic sorbent products on lumpy water.

Due to the unique properties of the sorbent material, the oil and petroleum products are absorbed and bonded fully, which prevents any desorption. This ensures no iridescent film in the areas, which indicates the complete clean-up of water from oil spills.

SynergySorb® hydrophobic sorbent products effectively clean water following oil spills, protect coastlines from pollution, and stop further pollution of the surface and groundwater. Sorbent products are laid directly on the polluted water to cover the maximum area of ​​the oil spills. Oil and petroleum products are fully absorbed by the sorbent products and do not leave an iridescent film. Saturation control of the sorbent products is produced at least every 24 hours. Multiple two-way use of the sorbent products until the products are completely saturated is allowed. Products are replaced after visible saturation. Oil- and petroleum-saturated products are removed by hooks or other improvised means. In the case of a risk of any damage to the integrity of the outer material in the process of the products' removal, it is recommended that reinforced products are used. The sorbent products do not require any special precautions during use.

The important advantage of SynergySorb® hydrophobic sorbent products is their environmental safety, which is the maximum possible among sorbents. The consumer also has no problem with waste recycling – the oil-saturated waste sorbent products are sent through the dealer to the manufacturer to be recycled and used further in the production process.

Properties

SynergySorb® hydrophobic sorbent products are made of a variety of SynergySorb® SP-150 sorbent enclosed in an outer non-woven polymeric material, which is water-repellent and has good permeability for oil and petroleum products.

SynergySorb® sorbent products belong to the group of hardly flammable combustible materials in their initial state, and the group of average flammable combustible materials in their oil-saturated state. It is not toxic and does not release harmful substances when coming into contact with air and water. According to their degree of impact on the environment (phytotoxicity) and humans (toxicity), the sorbent products belong to the low hazard class both in their original and oil-saturated states.

Hydrocarbon-saturated waste sorbent products are not waste, so they do not require special storage containers and are sent through the dealer to the manufacturer for further use in the production process.

  • Reinforced version with a double shell which is resistant to the limited exposure of hooks and other tools;

  • Reinforced version for a joined application with a double shell, plus enhanced load-bearing and hold-down elements.
